Financial advisors and engagement

Think of working with a financial advisor as an investment in you and your family. You may seek a limited scope with the creation of a financial plan that includes recommendations and action steps that address your goals and timeline (fee for service).

Client Centered

You may choose to have an on-going advice relationship that includes plan updates, progress analysis and incorporation of life changes.

You may want to have a financial advisor work in the capacity of a wealth advisor and assist in the design and management of your investment portfolio. You may want to work with a financial advisor to assist with topics such as insurance, long-term care, tax strategy, or estate planning. The best thing is that the services of a financial advisor are flexible and customizable to you and your needs.

In times of uncertainty or significant change, financial advisors are more valuable than ever. Your investments need to adapt to life changes (new job, marriage, child, retirement, job loss). You will also want to be tactical in response to new priorities and evolving economic changes.

The key outcome for many people who work with a financial advisor is financial security. The process involved in this outcome may include discussion and planning around retirement preparation, asset management, tax management, estate planning, and protection against events such as death, disability, or long-term/nursing home care.

Are you on the path to a financially sound retirement?

  • Do you know if you are on track to live your desired retirement lifestyle?
  • Have you looked at the amount of money it will take to finance a secure retirement along with your other goals?
  • Are you prepared for unexpected events that could impact your future or the future of your family? Have you organized and communicated your wishes and left a roadmap?
  • Will you be able to give to the people and causes you care about?
  • Are you concerned that you are behind on your savings for your age?

Selecting a Financial Advisor

At some point, everyone could benefit from developing a long-term financial plan.  This is a good reason to seek out a financial advisor.

Not everyone wants to be a financial expert, research investments, stay on top of legislative changes, or find and study new financial products.  Professional financial advisors and their firms play this role and can help you get the answers to your questions, and gain clarity and confidence.

Trusted Relationship and Value

A financial advisor can help you define your goals and calculate what needs to be done to meet them. The advisor can provide specific, actionable recommendations in alignment with your values and goals. You may find value in that process, but the total value of the relationship may include intangible elements.

What is the value of having someone in your corner that knows you, and confidentially works with you for potentially many years to help you move through your life stages? A financial advisor is a trusted resource to you and your family and can have a positive impact on helping you prepare for your ideal life, while protecting your family financially against negative events that may derail your plan. Your advisor is the person you will call when a crisis occurs that may affect your financial well-being. Your advisor is there to help you navigate and redirect and reevaluate impacts to your plan, while providing updated advice on your next moves to get back on track.
